Technology
Serving Greater Southern Maine and the New Hampshire Seacoast.
When it comes to State of the Art tooth and gum care, you will find the latest innovations at our Kennebunk Center for Dentistry. Advanced technological equipment allows us to provide a relaxed, safe environment and maximize our diagnostic and treatment capabilities. We are always on the lookout for new technology that will enhance the client experience through improved efficiency, minimized discomfort, and quicker healing. Our team members regularly attend continuing education classes that highlight and demonstrate new methods in dentistry. If we feel our clients can benefit from certain upgrades, we will do whatever it takes to integrate them into our Maine dental practice. To learn more about the current technology used at Kennebunk Center for Dentistry, read on.
Lasers for Soft and Hard Tissue
Kennebunk Center for Dentistry has many lasers that are used to make gums healthier in the treatment of periodontal disease. Lasers are also used in Hygiene treatment for the removal of decay.
Galileos 3D Digital Imaging
The Galileos 3D Digital Imaging machine has the ability to take a 3D picture of the client’s mouth, teeth and jaws. This allows us to diagnose any dental issues more accurately, focusing on preventing them from becoming more serious later on.
The Galileos uses much less radiation than conventional xray machines. The radiation is akin to that of traditional film-based dental xrays.

CEREC
Crowns, inlays, and onlays can be made in one visit with our own State of the Art CEREC 3D technology. Using a CAD-CAM design process plus digital imaging, CEREC 3D "reads" the tooth to be treated, then transmits the data to our own milling chamber where your personalized, precision-fitting restoration is created. For you this means no impressions or temporaries, and no need to return weeks later for a second appointment.
VELscope®
For your ultimate safety, our dentists and hygienists use the VELscope® technology, an oral-cancer detection tool that is much more effective and revealing than a simple physical examination of the mouth and tongue.
K7 Neuromuscular Evaluation
The K7 system is a combination of three technologies that gives objective data to aid Dr. Mills and Dr. Sudikoff in neuromuscular dentistry diagnosis and treatment. A computerized mandibular scanner allows our neuromuscular dentists to measure jaw movements and to detect any abnormalities. An electromyograph detects the tension in your muscles and can tell when your muscles are at their state of maximum rest, which can aid in harmonizing the teeth and muscles of your jaw. Finally, an electrosonograph listens to your aw to detect even the faintest popping or grinding to identify when bones may not be fitting together optimally.
Intraoral Cameras
Our dentists use an intraoral camera to get a close-up view of what is going on inside your mouth. Thanks to the fine detail and magnification, your doctor can detect and analyze potential areas of concern before they become big problems. Also, the intraoral camera helps our clients visualize and better understand treatment recommendations.
Digital X-rays
With all-digital X-rays, we have reduced our clients’ radiation exposure by 90 percent. The digital X-ray method also allows us to evaluate your pictures right away, saving time.
Computerized Scheduling
As part of our goal to make dental care easily accessible and stress-free, we have instituted a computerized scheduling program. Computerized scheduling means you can save time by making your appointment from the treatment room, cutting out an extra step during your visit.
